The deadline to enter the Student Writing Contest is past, but you can still enter the regular Writing Contest through February 28, 2013.

Injoy, Inc. Student Writing Contest

To qualify as a student, students must be eighteen or younger on April 30, 2013. Any person turning nineteen before April 30, 2013 can enter the writing contest for adults; students can enter either the writing contest for students or adults.

Submissions for the Student Writing Contest are accepted through January 31,2013, 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time.

Easy entry rules:

  1. Submit your story concept and 1-2 of your best chapters (1500-3000 words suggested) before January 31, 2013. Entry should be uploaded as a MS Word Doc format file, typed in Times New Roman, 12 point font, single spaced.  Student must affirm that the submission is original material.
  2. If you are selected as a finalist, we will work with you to help you submit a proposal by March 31, 2013.
  3. One grand prize winner will be selected from the proposals to win the grand prize.

Prize package includes a no-cost publishing package which includes cover design, formatting, editing, marketing, and webpage, free copies of your prize winning book, plus an opportunity to publish your book with Injoy, Inc.

Injoy, Inc. is pleased to announce a writing contest–actually two! One contest is for students, and the other is for EVERYone!

Student Contest:

Deadline to enter the student contest is January 31, 2013. (Now closed, but like the Injoy, Inc. Facebook page here to be the first to get the news of future writing contests and opportunities.)

Easy entry rules:

  1. Submit your story concept and a sample of your writing before January 31, 2013.  (1-2 of your best chapters is a great sample) Submit your entry here.
  2. If you are selected as a finalist, you submit a proposal for the grand prize. Injoy, Inc. will help authors prepare a professional proposal for your book to be submitted by March 31, 2013.
  3. One grand prize winner will be selected from the finalist proposals to receive a publishing package.

Not finished with your book? No problem. Just submit a good sample of your book (approximately 1500-3000 words) before January 31, 2013, and if you are a finalist, you have until March 31, 2013 to submit your proposal and timeline for the complete manuscript! Injoy, Inc. will work with you to create a manageable timeline for the submission of your final manuscript. (Final manuscript must be submitted in an MS Word Doc format, double-spaced, and should be at least 25-50,000 words.)

Prize package includes a no-cost publishing package which includes cover design, formatting, editing, marketing, and webpage, 10 free copies of your prize winning book (a $1770 value), plus an opportunity to publish your book with Injoy.

Editing

Authors provide a complete manuscript ready for publishing. Injoy, Inc. provides a final editing process that double checks spelling and word usage, reviews sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and basic style. We also provide notes for the author to fact-check, reword for readability, and scan for errors, omissions, and inconsistencies. However, we do not rewrite the manuscript; you are the writer!

After the editing process, we provide the author a copy of the manuscript that highlights and tracks our revisions and notes, so the author can review and make suggested changes before submitting the final manuscript for publishing. We recommend that the author go through a thorough editing, proofreading and several-step draft and rewriting process, utilizing friends and editors before submitting their manuscript to Injoy, Inc. for our final editing process prior to publishing. Our final editing process prepares the manuscript for publishing, and ensures that the manuscript meets the quality standards of Injoy, Inc., but the author is encouraged to make sure they submit their best and most complete manuscript, by utilizing a thorough editing process before submitting the manuscript to Injoy, Inc.

Using an online graphic portfolio, our authors capture the setting, characters, fonts and even the fashion designs of the characters they’ve created, which our designer then uses to create a custom-designed cover that draws readers into your story from the very first glance.
