The Livingstone Library is an adventure series for students in grades 4-12. The beauty of this series is that can expand across grade levels because of the varying degrees of truth and interest for all students. Younger students will enjoy the adventure and suspense, while being challenged by advanced vocabulary and scientific concepts, and introduced to philosophy and literature. Older students will be stirred to understand the mystery of the underlying spiritual truths that are woven into each story.

The series follows the adventures of the Livingstone family while they visit the mountaintop retreat of Rhemawood, on-location for the small movie production company their family operates. This mysterious abbey becomes the setting for a series of adventures the siblings discover. Homeschoolers will enjoy the way each mystery must be solved utilizing the research materials in the ancient library, and the tunnel system that connects the mountaintop to one suspenseful adventure after another.

It makes a great read-aloud that Mom will enjoy because of the secret nuggets of spiritual insight she can glean and share (or just ponder for herself!). There is plenty of room for unit study and research within these pages. Vocabulary and educational inserts are highlighted throughout the text and defined in the glossary at the back of the book. The author has hidden a lot of hints and clues in the story that aren’t easily discovered in the first reading, so children will want to return to this series again and again for a new layer of understanding.

Each book focuses on a new themed adventure, sure to stimulate an interest in every child.
